Commercial shows how employers can support workers throughout their careers

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- By turning to Unum, employers can provide their employees better benefits at work during life's ups and downs, according to a new television commercial that debuts this week.

Unum's 30-second spot, which is titled "Days Fly By," features a company that has stood by an employee throughout her career by offering support such as employee benefits from Unum. The commercial highlights some of Unum's products and services available through the workplace, including disability, accident and illness, and life insurance.

"People work hard every day to help their companies succeed, and that's why many employers depend on Unum to offer them the best benefits possible, such as protection from financial uncertainty," said Joe Foley, Unum's senior vice president and chief marketing officer. "Unum has a host of employee benefits to help employers provide the security their workers need."

The spot, which was designed by Portland, Maine-based ad agency Via, will air nationally on cable networks such as HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel and CNBC. It also will run during prime-time programming in select local markets across the country.

"We're focusing on business owners and decision-makers in human resources, so our television advertising mix is tailored to reach that audience when they're away from the office," Foley said.

The commercial will air for 20 weeks and be viewed an estimated 175 million times. Watch the new commercial here.

The television spot is part of Unum's 2010 advertising campaign, which includes another television commercial as well as print and online advertising through various national trade and business media.
