CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
UnumGroup (NYSE: UNM) announced today the promotion of Al
Riggieri to senior vice president and chief actuary.
Currently, Riggieri is vice president and chief actuary for Unum US in
the company’s Portland, Maine, offices. He began his career in 1980 with
Unum-predecessor The Paul Revere Life Insurance Company and has been
vice president and actuary of Unum US since 1998.
“Al’s 30 years of experience with our company and deep expertise in our
product lines make him an excellent choice for this important role,”
said Rick McKenney, executive vice president and chief financial officer
for Unum Group. “I look forward to Al’s development of the actuarial
function on a global basis and the important role that it will play in
the coming years.”
Riggieri graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1978. He is a
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the Academy of
Actuaries. He is married and has one daughter and two sons.
